Srila Prabhupada: “I may say many things to you, but when I say something directly, “Do it”, your first duty is to do that. You cannot argue, “Sir, you said me like this before.” No, that is not your duty. What I say now, you do it. That is obedience.”
Lecture by Srila Prabhupada on the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Hyderabad, India, April 15, 1975
Similarly, we have Srila Prabhupada’s final order on initiations on July 9th, 1977 wherein he orders that he remain the initiating spiritual master for the movement. Yet we hear many people today crying “Sir, you said me like this before.” or “Srila Prabhupada said this or that before.” Never mind that these people can only produce some small personal letter or the same questionable conversation in the face of a superseding official directive to movement worldwide. These people must be taken as insane. They do not have the brain substance to understand simple logic and reasoning, what to speak of spiritual matters. It can be understood that they have gone insane. This is Srila Prabhupada’s conclusion.
